Art 1 Distance Learning
Student Still Life
Dutch Still Lifes and Instagram!
Students learned about the purpose and content of Dutch still life paintings and compared them to the habits of many Instagram posts. They answered some reflection questions through EdPuzzle, then created their own still life photo inspired by Dutch still life and/or Instagram.

Students watched that video through EdPuzzle and answered questions during the video about the content they saw and their reactions to it.
Student Digital Landscape painting
Landscape- Art Element of Space
Students were introduced to the art element of space. Several examples of landscapes were shared in the project sheet: paintings, drawings, and digital paintings. Students were asked to create a landscape that shows space, they could choose a traditional medium they had access to in their homes, or they could choose to create a digital painting in kleki.com or a platform of their choice.
Student Color Wheel
Color Wheel Scavenger Hunt
Students create the internet famous color wheel scavenger hunt! After watching and reflecting on basic color theory in an EdPuzzle, students create their own color wheel with their choice of objects arranged on the floor, or objects photographed individually and arranged in google slides.

Student Graffiti Design
History of Graffiti- & Graffiti Design
Students watched and reflected on a TedEd video called “The History of Graffiti” through EdPuzzle. They were asked to consider whether graffiti is art or vandalism, or both. They were asked to imagine some of the reasons why people create graffiti- despite the fact it is a punishable crime. Then students looked at several examples of different styles of graffiti from around the world. Finally students were asked to design their own graffiti piece and explain specifically where they could imagine it being painted and why. This assignment coincided with Covid, Pride month, and the June 2020 Black Lives Matters protests. Many students used this assignment to address current events and to promote social justice and change.
